Well, ur welcome. But I was really interested in knowing if in the actual scene is described that altough he's wearing a tee his abdomen is showing a bit. If so, that wouldn't be the first scene like that that King wrote.
I just checked. It's just a normal T-shirt, and there are no mentions of his belly showing.
From the book:
He was wearing faded madras shorts and a yellow T-shirt that said NEVER A DULL MOMENT IN MID-WORLD. He had tied a green bandanna around his forehead to keep his hair out of his eyes.
Oh cool, I wouldn't be surprise if there was cause I remember one specific scene on IT, about Bill and Richie facing IT as a wwerewolf, and the werewolf drags Bill and Richie watches it all, and while he's watching is discribed that Bill's T-shirt rolled up a lot, until his chest. There's also a lot of mention of Ben staring at a bit of Beverly's stomach and I recently read 'salem's Lot and in one specific scene one of the main protagonist Mark, a young boy, faces the school bully (called Richie, by the way). He's very taller and strong than Mark Petrie. They get into a fight and Mark surprised everyone, including the bully Richie, by his efficient series of blows. In the description of this fight it says that Mark made Richie's belly scratch on the floor! So when I saw this fanart of yours I legit thought SK had given one small shirt to another character again lol. Also, I leave here my suggestion for Mark and Richie fight scene if you could draw I would love to see this scene.
I have not drawn that fight. I have only drawn 5 pics from 'Salem's Lot. But there is one from the scene where Mark has to take off his shirt and wash it because it got dead vampire on it.
Is he wearing a crop top/small tee like that in the actual book scene?
ReplyDeleteI went with a small one (it does let us view part of his abdomen), but just now I looked up "crop top" to see they should be way shorter...
DeleteI tried to be faithful to the book, but I think I overlooked exactly how short the short T.shirt really was...
Well, I guess this just means I have a reason to draw something from this scene again, but now with correct lengths.
I owe you one, thanks for your question.
